Materials:

You will need: disposable gloves and a shower cap, and the light henna powder, which is included in the box.

Additionally, you will need: a non-metallic bowl, a plastic spatula for mixing, hot water (preferably bottled), a dye brush for applying to the roots (although it's not essential). Finally, you will need a towel and a blow dryer.

If you want to enhance the results and get more highlights in your hair, you can add some lemon juice and/or chamomile tea to the mixture.

How to Use:

Preparation:

  1. 1: Pour the henna powder into a non-metallic bowl, being careful, or wear gloves as the powder stains.
  2. If desired, add lemon juice and/or chamomile tea to the mixture.
  3. 2: Slowly add very hot water and mix carefully with the spatula until you achieve a smooth paste.
  4. 3: Let it rest until it is lukewarm.

Application:

Tip: First, apply moisturizing cream around your face, ears, and neck to protect your skin from stains.

Apply the paste on dry hair, massaging the scalp and covering all the roots evenly. Move towards the ends if you're applying the dye to all the hair. If you're dyeing dreads, it's the same process, but you must carefully apply it to each rasta, soaking it thoroughly and ensuring the dye penetrates deep into the hair inside the rasta, not just the outer layer. Everything else is the same as with loose hair.

Once everything is covered, massage the scalp well.

If you’ve only retouched the roots: wear the shower cap with your hair or dreads in a low ponytail.

If you dyed all the hair: gather it into a high bun and wear the cap.

If the cap moves, secure it with cling film.

Clean any stains on your skin now.

Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours.

Rinsing:

Rinse with lukewarm water until most of the paste (mud-like texture) is gone, then wash with your shampoo (if you have dreads, your shampoo should be this one by Dr. Bronner's). Massage the scalp for a minute, and finally rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.

Ingredients: Cassia Obovata, Lawsonia Inermis, Sodium Picramate

Quantity: 100 grams. Enough for most hair or dreadheads (up to mid-back; for longer hair, you’ll need one and a half or two packages).

If you're only retouching roots, use approximately 25 grams.

Here's a link to a video tutorial on YouTube by a lovely girl who explains everything. When I get the chance, I'll record a tutorial for dreads, but remember, it's exactly the same process, but you need to soak each rasta well, rubbing a little bit at a time, to ensure the dye penetrates deep into the hair inside the rasta, as much as possible, not just the surface layer.
