Materials:
In the box, you'll find disposable gloves, a cap, and henna powder.
Additionally, you'll need a bowl (avoid using metal), a plastic spatula, hot water (preferably bottled), and, if desired, a brush to apply on the roots. You will also need a towel and a blow dryer.
If you want to enhance the highlights, you can add a little lemon juice or chamomile infusion to the mixture.
How to Use:
Preparation:
- Place the henna in a bowl, using gloves to avoid stains.
- Slowly add hot water while mixing with the spatula until you obtain a smooth paste. You can include lemon or chamomile if preferred.
- Let the mixture rest until it is lukewarm before applying it.
Application:
Tip: Before starting, apply moisturizer around the face, ears, and neck to protect your skin from stains.
On dry hair, apply the paste by massaging it well into the scalp, ensuring all the roots are covered evenly. Work your way down to the tips if you are coloring all the hair. If you’re dyeing dreadlocks, it’s the same process, just apply carefully to each individual dreadlock, soaking it thoroughly, ensuring the dye penetrates as deeply as possible into the hair inside the dreadlock, not just the surface. Other than that, it’s the same as with loose hair.
Once fully covered, massage the scalp well.
If you’ve only retouched the roots: place the cap on top with your hair or dreadlocks gathered in a low ponytail.
If you’ve dyed all your hair: gather everything in a top bun and put on the cap.
If the cap moves, you can secure it with plastic wrap.
Clean any skin stains now.
Leave it on for 2 to 3 hours.
Rinsing:
Rinse with lukewarm water until most of the paste (like mud) is gone. Then, wash with your shampoo (if you have dreadlocks, your shampoo should be this one from Dr. Bronner's). Massage your scalp for one minute, and finally rinse with lukewarm water until the water runs clear with no more color.
Ingredients: Cassia Obovata, Lawsonia Inermis, Sodium Picramate
Quantity: 100 grams. Enough for most hair or dreadlocks (up to mid-back, for longer hair you will need one and a half or two packages).
If you're just retouching the roots, use approximately 25 grams.
Here’s a link to a YouTube video tutorial from a very nice girl who explains everything. When I get the chance, I’ll record a tutorial for dreadlocks, but remember, it’s exactly the same process—just make sure to soak each dreadlock well, rubbing a section at a time so the dye penetrates as much as possible into the inner hair of the dreadlock, not just the surface layer of hair.
