Materials:

Gloves, disposable cap, and henna powder (included in the box).

You will also need a non-metallic bowl, a plastic or wooden spatula, hot water (preferably bottled), a brush for applying to the roots, a towel, and a hairdryer.

For extra highlights, add lemon juice or chamomile tea.

How to use henna powder:

Preparation:

  1. Place the henna in a glass bowl. Use gloves to avoid staining.
  2. Gradually add hot water while mixing with the spatula. Add lemon juice or chamomile if preferred.
  3. Let it rest until it is lukewarm.

Application:

Tip: Before anything, apply moisturizer around your face, ears, and neck to protect your skin from stains.

On dry hair, apply the paste by massaging well into the scalp and evenly covering all the roots. Continue to the tips if you are applying it to the entire hair. If you are dyeing dreadlocks, it's the same process, but you must apply it carefully, one rasta at a time, soaking it well, ensuring the dye penetrates the inner hair of the rasta, not just the outer layer. Otherwise, it's the same as with loose hair.

Once everything is covered, massage the scalp well.

If you’ve only retouched the roots: put the cap on and gather your hair or dreadlocks in a low ponytail.

If you’ve dyed all of it: gather everything into a high bun and put the cap on.

If the cap moves, you can secure it with plastic wrap.

Clean off any stains on your skin now.

Leave it on for 2 to 3 hours.

Rinsing:

Rinse with lukewarm water until most of the paste (mud-like) is gone, then wash with your shampoo (if you have dreadlocks, your shampoo should be Dr. Bronner's). Massage your scalp for a minute, and finally, rinse with lukewarm water until almost no color comes out in the water.

Ingredients: Cassia Obovata, Lawsonia Inermis, Sodium Picramate

Amount: 100 grams. Enough for most hair types or dreadheads (up to mid-back, for longer hair, you will need one and a half or two packages).

If you are only retouching the roots, use about 25 grams.

Here is a link to a video tutorial on YouTube from a very nice girl who explains everything. When I have the chance, I’ll record a tutorial on dreadlocks, but remember, it’s exactly the same; you just need to soak each rasta thoroughly, rubbing bit by bit, so that the dye penetrates deeply into the inner hair of the rasta as much as possible, not just the outer layer of hair.
