Materials:
You will need: disposable gloves and a disposable cap, along with the light powder henna, which are included in the package.
Additionally, you will need: a container (it cannot be metal), a plastic spatula for mixing, hot water (preferably from a bottle), a tinting brush for applying to the roots, although it's not essential. Finally, you will need a towel and a hair dryer.
If you want to improve the results and achieve more highlights in your hair, you can add a little lemon juice and/or chamomile infusion to the mixture.
APPLICATION PROCESS OVER A TOTAL OF 3 DAYS.
DAY 1: PREPARE* AND APPLY NATURAL COPPER HENNA, leave it on for 2 hours, rinse. Your hair will be orange.
DAY 2: LET HAIR REST
DAY 3: *PREPARE AND APPLY INDIGO, leave it on for two hours, rinse. This will result in a very deep dark brown color.
*Preparation:
1: Pour the henna powder into a glass container, being careful as the powder itself stains.
Add lemon juice and/or chamomile if desired.
2: Slowly add hot water while mixing with the spatula until you get a smooth paste.
3: Let it rest until it cools to a warm temperature.
Application:
Tip: First, apply moisturizer around the face, ears, and neck to protect your skin from stains.
On dry hair, apply the paste by massaging the scalp and covering all the roots completely and evenly. Continue towards the tips if you are coloring all your hair. If you are dyeing dreadlocks, it’s the same process, just apply carefully to each rasta, soaking it well and ensuring the dye penetrates deep inside the rasta, not just the outer layer. The process is the same as with loose hair.
Once everything is covered, massage the scalp well.
If you’ve only touched up the roots: put on the cap with your hair or dreadlocks in a low ponytail.
If you’ve dyed everything: gather all the hair in a bun on top and wear the cap.
If the cap moves, you can secure it with cling film.
Clean any skin stains now.
Leave it on for 2 to 3 hours.
Rinsing:
Rinse with warm water until most of the paste (the mud-like substance) is gone, then wash with your shampoo (if you have dreadlocks, your shampoo should be this one from Dr. Bronner's). Massage your scalp for a minute, and finally rinse with warm water until the water runs almost clear.
Ingredients: Cassia Obovata, Lawsonia Inermis, Sodium Picramate
Quantity: 100 grams.
Here’s a link to a video tutorial on YouTube by a lovely lady who explains everything. When I get a chance, I will record a tutorial for dreadlocks, but remember, it’s exactly the same process. You just need to soak each rasta thoroughly, rubbing piece by piece to ensure the dye penetrates deep into the hair inside the rasta as much as possible, not just on the surface layer of the hair.
