Materials:

Inside the box, you will find gloves, a disposable cap, and henna powder.

You will need: a bowl (do not use metal), a plastic or wood spatula, hot water (preferably bottled), and a dye brush. You will also need a towel and a hairdryer.

To improve the results, you can add lemon or chamomile tea to the mixture.

Instructions:

Preparation:

  1. Place the henna in a bowl while wearing gloves.
  2. Gradually add hot water and mix until you get a smooth paste. If preferred, add lemon or chamomile.
  3. Let it sit until it is lukewarm.

Application:

Tip: Before starting, apply moisturizing cream around the face, ears, and neck to protect your skin from stains.

On dry hair, apply the paste by massaging the scalp and covering the roots completely and evenly. Continue to the ends if applying to the entire hair. If dyeing dreads, apply carefully to each dread, making sure the dye soaks into the hair inside the dread, not just the outer layer. The rest is the same as with loose hair.

Once everything is covered, massage the scalp well.

If you’ve only touched up the roots: wear the cap with the hair or dreads tied in a low ponytail.

If you’ve dyed the whole hair: gather everything into a top bun and wear the cap.

If the cap moves, you can secure it with cling film.

Clean any skin stains now.

Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours.

Rinsing:

Rinse with lukewarm water until most of the paste (a kind of mud) is removed, then wash with your shampoo (if you have dreads, your shampoo should be Dr. Bronner's). Massage the scalp for a minute, and finally rinse with lukewarm water until almost no color remains in the water.

Ingredients: Cassia Obovata, Lawsonia Inermis, Sodium Picramate

Quantity: 100 grams. Enough for most hair or dreadheads (up to mid-back, for longer hair, you’ll need one and a half or two packages).

If you are only touching up the roots, use about 25 grams.

Here is a link to a video tutorial on YouTube by a nice girl who explains everything. I will record a tutorial for dreads when I get the chance, but remember, it’s exactly the same, just make sure to soak each dread thoroughly, rubbing piece by piece so the dye penetrates well into the inner hair of the dread, not just the outer layer of hair.
