Materials:

The set includes: disposable gloves, a disposable cap, and henna powder.

You will also need: a bowl (avoid metal), a plastic or wooden spatula, hot water (preferably bottled), a dye brush (optional for roots), a towel, and a hairdryer.

For enhanced highlights, add lemon juice or chamomile tea to the mix.

Instructions:

  1. Pour the henna into a non-metallic bowl while wearing gloves to avoid stains.
  2. Gradually add hot water, mixing with the spatula until achieving a smooth paste.
  3. Let the mixture cool before application.

Application:

Tip: Before starting, apply moisturizer around your face, ears, and neck to prevent staining your skin.

On dry hair. Apply the paste by thoroughly massaging your scalp and evenly covering all the roots. Continue to the ends if applying it to your entire hair. If dyeing dreadlocks, the process is similar; just carefully apply it to each dreadlock, ensuring it is well-saturated and that the dye penetrates the inner hair strands within the lock, not just the outer layer. Everything else is the same as with loose hair.

Once everything is covered, massage your scalp well.

If you’re only retouching the roots: gather your hair or locks into a low ponytail and cover with the cap.

If dyeing all of your hair: tie it up in a bun and cover with the cap.

If the cap moves, you can secure it with cling film.

Clean your skin if you’ve stained it now.

Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours.

Rinsing:

Rinse with warm water until most of the paste (mud-like texture) is gone. Then wash with your shampoo (if you have dreadlocks, your shampoo should be this one from Dr. Bronner's). Massage your scalp for one minute, then rinse thoroughly with warm water until the water runs almost clear.

Ingredients: Cassia Obovata, Lawsonia Inermis, Sodium Picramate

Quantity: 100 grams. Enough for most hair lengths or dreadlocks (up to mid-back; longer hair will require one and a half to two packs).

If only retouching roots, use approximately 25 grams.

Here’s a link to a video tutorial on YouTube by a lovely girl explaining the process. When I have the chance, I’ll record a tutorial for dreadlocks, but remember, it’s exactly the same, except you need to thoroughly saturate each dreadlock, working bit by bit to ensure the dye penetrates the inner hair strands as much as
