Why is it the best soap for dreads?
Because it hydrates, cleanses, and helps prevent itchiness and flaking (dry white skin that looks like dandruff but isn’t) that some people with (and without) dreads may experience.
Additionally, it contains no softeners or conditioners, which helps keep loose hairs inside your dreads and ensures your dreads mature and compact faster. It also helps keep your dreads tighter for longer.

Which scent should I choose?
If you need help choosing a scent, I recommend:
- For oily hair: citrus
- To repel lice if you're in contact with children: tea tree
- If you like strong and refreshing scents: mint or eucalyptus
- If you prefer soft scents: rose, almond, lavender, or cherry blossom
- For very sensitive skin or if you don’t like any scent: unscented
How do I use it?
- Wet the bar and rub to create a lot of lather.
- Massage the scalp with the lather, separating the roots to clean thoroughly.
- Distribute the lather through the rest of the hair/dreads for a full wash and massage well.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all the shampoo.
- After rinsing, wrap your dreads in a towel to create a turban.
- Leave it for about 15 minutes. (You can use a bamboo microfiber towel , which weighs less and absorbs faster.)
- To finish, release your dreads and let them air dry or use a hairdryer. Keep the dryer at least a hand's width away and use medium speed and power settings.
How often should I use it?
I recommend:
- Washing your scalp (with your dreads tied up in a high bun, pineapple style, with the hair tie positioned high to free your roots) every 3–5 days.
- Washing your entire dreads only once a month. Here’s a video explaining how to wash your scalp without washing your full dreads.

- TIP: To make the bar last longer, you can cut it in half with a hot knife and store one half.
